All the Very Best to NAAVU SARIILLA GROUP. Rajesh

Comments: Site sakkat aagide… Narration of Kemmangundi trek is excellent.. I enjoyed a lot while reading it.. Also you guys have proved that, you not only top in having fun but are true IT brains, by creating a fundoo webpage embedding java scripts!! Instead of naming the site as “naavu sari illa” you could have chosed our boss Uppi’s “A – Buddhivantarige maatra”.. That would suit your group better.. Hats off!!!!

About Karnataka

Karnataka is one of the four southern states of India. Before 1973, the state was known as Mysore state, as it was formed out of the former Kingdom of Mysore in 1950, and enlarged in 1956 to include the Kannada-speaking regions of neighboring states. Karnataka's capital Bangalore is the only city in the state with a population of more than 1 million. Other major cities include Mysore, Mangalore, Hubli-Dharwad, Bellary and Belgaum. Kannada is the official language of Karnataka

About Kannada language

Kannada - aptly described as 'sirigannada' (known to few as Kanarese) is one of the oldest Dravidian languages and is spoken in its various dialects by roughly 45 million people.
The Kannada language has been spoken for about 2500 years and third oldest language of India, with the Kannada writing system being in use for about the last 1900 years. In Kannada one can "WRITE WHAT YOU SPEAK, YOU CAN READ WHAT YOU WRITE". The initial development of the Kannada language is similar to that of other Dravidian languages, notably Tamil and Telugu. During later centuries, Kannada, along with Telugu, has been highly influenced by Sanskrit vocabulary and literary styles.

Kannada is a highly inflected language with three genders (masculine, feminine, neutral or common) and two numbers (singular, plural). It is inflected for gender, number and tense, among other things.

There is also a sharp distinction between the spoken and written forms of the language. Spoken Kannada tends to vary from region to region. The written form is more or less constant throughout Karnataka, however. The ethnologue identifies about 20 dialects of Kannada. Notable of them are Kodava (spoken in Coorg district), Kunda (spoken exclusively in Kundapura), Havyaka (spoken mainly by Havyaka Brahmanas of Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Shimoga, Sagara, and Udupi districts), Are Bhashe (spoken mainly in Sullia region of Dakshina Kannada), Soliga Kannada, Badaga Kannada, Gulbarga Kannada, Hubli Kannada, etc.

It underwent modifications periodically in the reign of Sathavahanas, Kadambas, Gangas, Rastrakutas, and Hoysalas. Even before seventh-Century, the Telugu-Kannada script was used in the inscriptions of the Kadambas of Banavasi and the early Chalukya of Badami in the west. From the middle of the seventh century the archaic variety of the Telugu-Kannada script developed a middle variety. The modern Kannada and Telugu scripts emerged in the thirteenth Century. Kannada along with other Indian language scripts shares a large number of structural features. The writing system of Kannada script encompasses the principles governing the phonetics (The branch of acoustics concerned with speech processes including its production and perception and acoustic analysis) and a syllabic writing systems, and phonemic writing systems (alphabets). The effective unit of writing Kannada is the orthographic syllable consisting of a consonant and vowel core and optionally, one or more preceding consonants. The orthographic syllable need not correspond exactly with a phonological syllable, especially when a consonant cluster is involved, but the writing system is built on phonological principles and tends to correspond quite closely to pronunciation. The orthographic (A method of representing the sounds of a language by written or printed symbols) syllable is built up of alphabetic pieces, the actual letters of Kannada script. These consist of distinct character types: Consonant letters, independent vowels and the corresponding dependent vowel signs. In a text sequence, these characters are stored in logical phonetic order. For more information please visit http;//brahmi.sourceforge.net

Unique things about Kannada

Kannada has a few firsts. The first encyclopedia was written in Kannada. This was later translated to Sanskrit under name Shivatatvaratnakara.

About kannada saahithya

The Kannada language belongs to the Dravidian family of languages and is the second oldest language currently spoken in India . Kannada literature is also the third oldest literary tradition in India, next to those of Sanskrit literature (and its various dialects such as Prakrit) and Tamil literature.

Early writing
The first example of Kannada writing can be found in the Halmidi inscription, dated c. 450 CE. The famous Badami inscriptions from the 7th century provide more examples of early Kannada writing. However, the first available book in Kannada is the Kavirajamarga, written in the 9th century by Amoghavarsha Nrpatunga. The book is a treatise of sorts on Kannada poetry, Kannada language and Kannada speaking people in general. Based on the references that the book makes to earlier Kannada works, historians estimate that literature in Kannada must have begun a couple of centuries before, in the 6th-7th centuries CE. However, none of these earlier works have been found.
The history of Kannada literature is usually studied under three phases
1) Hale Kannada (Old Kannada)
2) Nadu Kannada (Middle Kannada)
3) Adhunika Kannada (Modern Kannada)

Old Kannada (haLegannaDa)
The Old Kannada phase marks the period from the 10th century to approximately the 12th century. This period consists mainly of Jain religious literature. The most famous poet from this period is Pampa (902-975 CE), one of the most famous writers in the Kannada language. His Vikramarjuna Vijaya (also called pampa bharatha)is hailed as a classic even to this day. With this and his other important work Adipurana he set a trend of poetic excellence for the Kannada poets of the future. The former work is an adaptation of the celebrated Mahabharata, and is the first such adaptation in Kannada. Noted for the strong human bent and the dignified style in his writing, Pampa has been one of the most influential writers in Kannada. He is identified as the adi kavi. (First poet)

Middle Kannada(naDugannaDa)
The Middle Kannada period gave birth to several genres in Kannada literature, with new forms of composition coming into use, including Ragale (a form of blank verse) and meters like Sangatya and Desi. The works of this period are based on Jain, Hindu and secular principles.

Vachanas
Kannada had poetry similar to haiku in the 12th century! This form of poetry, called vachanas, were three liners which were pithy comments on that period's social, religious and economic conditions. More importantly, they hold a mirror to the seed of a social revolution, which caused a radical re-examination of the ideas of caste, creed and religion. One of the important ideas coming out of this revolution was the view that Work is worship and a path to spirituality.
Some of the important writers of Vachana literature include Basaveshvara (1131-1167 CE), Allama Prabhu and Akka Mahadevi, the first woman-writer in Kannada.

Kumara Vyasa
Arguably, Kumara Vyasa has been the most famous and most influential Kannada writer of all time. His lifetime work, the Karnata Bharata KathaManjari, is a sublime adaptation of the first ten Parvas (chapters) of the Mahabharata. A devotee of Krishna, Kumara Vyasa ends his epic with the passing of Krishna in the tenth chapter of the Mahabharata. The work is easily the most celebrated in Kannada literature. Its fame arises out of the fact that it has appealed to people of all strata of education and intellect right up to the present day. The work is entirely composed in the Bhamini Shatpadi meter, a form of six lined stanza. The range of human emotions that Kumara Vyasa explores and the versatility of his vocabulary are extensive. The work is particularly known for its use of sophisticated metaphors, earning Kumara Vyasa the title Rupaka Samrajya Chakravarti (Emperor of the Land of Metaphors).

Bhakti
Bhakti literature is the literature composed by the Dasas or saints, around 15th century, singing the glory of God through poems. These poems called Padas were usually of 10 to 20 lines. They expressed the desire of the Bhakta or devotee to be one with God. This form of poetry was highly amenable to musical composition and exposition. This music evolved into the highly sophisticated and codified Carnatic music. The Haridasas spread the message of peace, love and bhakti in their Dasa Sahitya, which are also popularly known as Devaranamas. Important writers of the Bhakti genre are Purandara Dasa (1494-1564) and Kanaka Dasa.

Modern Kannada(hosagannaDa)

Navodaya
Navodaya literally means a new birth. This indeed was the reincarnation of Kannada literature in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, after a period of dormancy in the face of British occupation of India. This period saw greats like Srikanthaiah, Kuvempu, Bendre, Shivaram Karanth, Betgeri Krishnasharma. This genre was highly influenced by Romantic English Poetry and Greek theater. It was Srikanthaiah who started this movement of sorts with his translation of a few critically acclaimed English poems of the Romantic period. Many educated Kannadigas, especially those who were in the teaching profession, realised that they needed to express themselves in their mother tongue and started writing in Kannada.
Kuvempu is a case in point who was convinced by his professor (of British origin) that he should write in his mother tongue. Kuvempu went on to become a Rashtrakavi (national poet). His love of nature, realisation of the greatness of man's spirit and the vision to see the blend of nature and God made him more than Kannada's Wordsworth. His most famous work is the Sri Ramayana Darshanam, based on the Hindu epic Ramayana.

To be Proud: The fact that holds testament to the greatness of Kannada literature is that it has won seven Jnanapith awards, the highest for any Indian language. As of August 2004, a total of 46 Kannada writers have received the Indian Sahitya Akademi award. For more info. please visit http;//www.kamat.com

About Bangalore

Bangalore is believed to have been founded in 1537 by Kempe Gowda (1510 - 1570). During the time of the Puranas, this region was known as "Kalyanapuri" or "Kalyananagara", the "City Auspicious". The Mauryan Emperor, Chandragupta Maurya, renounced his throne to become a Jain Monk at Shravanabelagola, a Jain piligrimage center, southwest of Bangalore.

Bengaluru was first mentioned in records from the Ganga era as a small hamlet, the location of which coincides with modern Halebengaluru near Kodigehalli (not far from Hebbal). It is said that when Kempe Gowda built his new capital town in about 1537, he called it Bengaluru as his mother and wife belonged to the hamlet of Halé Bengaluru (Old Bangalore) .

Another version suggests that the name Bangalore derives from Benda kalu, which means Boiled beans. It is said that a humble old lady served a 10th century ruler, King Veeraballa of Vijayanagara who lost his way in the forest. He liked the food so much he named the place Benda Kaluru, meaning "the city of boiled beans", to commemorate his experience. After the arrival of the British, the city was given the anglicized name of "Bangalore".

Shravanadalli Nirvana (01 January 2006)

01 January 2006 - Shravanabelagola
Starring - Shets, Vinod, Pungi, Kabira
Screenplay - Kabira (Obviously any reference to the first person will mean Kabira).

What a way to start the new year with and what a place to visit!!! Here is how it all started:

I had to come back to India sometime during January for my work permit. I then struck a deal with my team that I could come back during the New year's eve if I could complete the work allotted. I somehow managed to "finish" the work well before the deadline what with the huge incentive of a visit to Bangalore looming large over the horizon. Anyways, I told Shets that I would be coming over on Sunday and asked him to plan something for the day. The catch was that most of the members were not in town that day and as such even if something was planned for the day, there would be limited participation as is the wont of the gang. Vinod was one of the guys who would stay back and in a fit of frustration asked Shets to plan for any damn thing with him game for it. The count climbed to 3 then with me, Shets and Vinod ready to "rock" ( pun intended ). Pungi was also goaded into making the trip as his father could take care of the business for the day. With Pungi came his Sumo also w!hich meant that we need not make any alternate travel arrangements. All said and done, the only thing yet to be decided was the eventual destination :))

I wearily trudged down to Bangalore in the wee hours of the new year and tried as I might, I could not grab even a wink of sleep. I felt that the day would turn out to be nothing special as there was no word from Shets about the plan. Finally, I heard the welcome ring of the phone and Shets it was asking me to be ready in about a hour's time. Where were we headed ???? Search me !! He told me that Pungi was ready with his vehicle which came as a bolt from the blue as that was the last thing that I expected. No offence meant, maam. Sumne thamashege :)) Shets also told me that Vinod wanted to go to Yediyur and that his parents would also accompany us on the trip. I was frankly disappointed at this mis-judgement from Vinod as we could not be our normal ( indecent ) selves with family. But, we were okay with it and we had to try hard to remain "good boys". Vinod was his usual late self and I called him up after he was more than an hour late from the scheduled meetup time. Shets !
and Pungi had already come to my place by then. It was then that Vinod told us that he would be coming alone. This was another mis-judgement from Vinod as he should not have told his parents that thay need not come especially when they were looking forward to it.

It was then that we had a brainstorm as to what our destination should be. I came up with Mekedatu and the Maddur temple that we donated money to. We collected the details from Tiski about the same and were almost decided about the place when we had a change of heart and consensus was that the Maddur temple should be visited by a majority of the group and not a fragment as was the case now. It was to be Yediyur then combined with a possible visit to Shravanabelagola.

We started on our way to Yediyur then with Rao as our driver. Shets had not had his breakfast but we thought that we would have the same after darshan at Yediyur. Moreover, lunch time was nigh and there was no point in having breakfast then. We stopped at a roadside bakery and had a vegetable puff each. We reached Yediyur and were immediately greeted by a huge swarm of devotees waiting to pay their obeisances to Lord Siddalingeshwara, the presiding deity at Yediyur. We did try to stand in the "queue" but it was clear that it would take us a minimum of an hour to get to the sanctum sanctorum by which time it would be too late for us to visit Shravanabelagola. However, we could see the idol from about a distance of 50 feet and we dutifully bowed our heads satisfied that we had had the darshana.

Lunch was the next item on the agenda and we made our way into a Dhaba which was near a huge lake just beside a bridge. The ambience was scenic and the food also was pretty decent and our meal consisted of some Roti, Curry and Curd Rice. After this rather sumptuous meal, off we went to the shrine of Bahubali, the embodiment of nirvana.

The road was not as worse as we imagined it to be and we made our way to Shravanabelagola through innumerable paddy fields and agricultural lands, lush green after the advent of the fantastic monsoon that season. Pungi also tried his hand at driving a couple of km after which sanity prevailed and he handed the reins back to Rao, our driver.

Now, history has it that Bahubali was a prince who had a tiff with his brother and turned to Jainism for solace. He gave up all worldly possessions denouncing them as evil and started his penance standing upright and eventually attained "moksha", the supreme release. It was Chavundaraya, the minister of the Ganga dynasty, who decided to construct a structure befitting Bahubali's stature. He decided upon a huge monolithic structure, which is still the tallest of its kind in the world, to be built atop Indragiri. Indragiri and Chandragiri are twin mountains at Shravanabelagola with Chandragiri containing temples in honour of the Jain thirthankaras and Indragiri being the abode of Bahubali.

Climbing the inexhaustible number of steps to reach the structure is an arduous task in itself as Vinod would readily vouch for. We did manage to climb them and reach the place with Vinod visibly tired to the hilt. But the climb was worth it as the statue is as close as it gets to making an exact replica of a man. Even the "minute" details have been taken care of and with finesse at that :)) In essence, the art of sculpting cannot get better than this. After covering Bahubali at all angles possible and with proof that we did visit the place, it was time to get back. Pungi was the one who was the most happy of the lot as this place is one of Jainism's most sacred places and it was his first time here. He wasted no time in calling up his folks back home and telling them that he was here.

Chandragiri was our next logical step but Vinod was in no shape to make the climb as he was turning over a new leaf that day. But, he was not doing the right thing as you cannot refrain from doing anything drastically. Any process can only be gradual with the fossil fuels being a prime example. Anyways, we decided not to force Vinod into the climb and me, Shets and Pungi started the ascent. This was a steeper climb and we could see that some soothing compound was laid on the rock so that summer does not take toll of anyone's feet. We had a look at all the temples at the place numbering around 24, one for each thirthankara. Shets and I tried our hands at marriage brokering with Pungi as the potential bridegroom. But none of the brides was worth a look, let alone a second one :(( We then decided that we will flaunt our wares sometime later and at a different place.

After the descent, each one of us had "Elneeru" which was the need of the hour. It was time to get back to Bangalore and off we went on NH-13 again. We stopped at Channarayapatna on the way to have snacks and what a wonderful idea it turned out to be. We had a fantastic plate each of Thatte Idli which satiated our appetites. On the way back, we had a nice music session by all of the team. Finally, it was back to Bangalore after a hard day's work. On the whole, this was an unexpectedly nice outing thanks to all who made it possible.

Madikeriyalli Meredhata (Madikeri Trip) Nov 18-20, 2005

Starring - Vinod, Daya, Raaghu, Shets, Full Naggan.
Background of the trip:

It all started with a thought that we have to prove Kabira’s statement that “YOU GUYS CANNOT GO ANY WHERE WITH OUT ME”, in addition to this every week travel description for the places he visited in UK from Kabira made us to think seriously that we have to execute one trip before he is back.

After making up the mind for executing the trip, one of the toughest part we have to decide are listed below

1) How many folks are Game?
2) Mode of transportation.
3) Accommodation.
4) Miscellaneous.

After creating huge traffic on the mail servers finally decided on the above list

1) Me (Vinod), Daya Mama aka Tiski, Raaghu aka Shaker/Thirthru(Raaghu), Shets, Gane are game for the trip. It will be unfair from my part if I don’t mention about the views of the rest of the members.

Devu: As usual one liner “not game busy kano, guru sakkat kelsa”
Ashok: Newly married so can understood that, he has to be there most of the time where near ones are there.
Mahesh: Says “TOOOOOOO early call for the next years trip”
Full Naggan: Female part of full Naggan had presentation and mandatory party to be attended.
Karthik and Durai: Beyond reach.
Shiva: Had some family function to attend.
So on average more or less folks dropped off.

2) Mode of transportation was totally depended on the number of persons, so now its decided only 5 person so we thought going for Sumo or Qualis. Shetty enquired about the Pungi’s sumo. But was flopped and decided to go for the Qualis. Raaghu took the responsibility of booking the Qualis

3) Accommodation responsibility was taken by Daya mama.

By Wednesday 16th Nov we decided that we are 5 confirmed members. Then was a unexpected drop off from the Gane, who literally was upset from the group trip activities as we did not executed any trips for long time. Well that was his call and unavoidable circumstances and was well respected. With this drop off we were only 4 person left. Any how once decided we cannot step back “gotta alla naavu yaaru antha”. Raaghu booked the Qualis and Daya Mama has taken necessary contact details of accommodation.

Day 0 - Nov 18, 2005 (Friday)
Every thing was decided and confirmed. We all reached home and while going back to home from work decided mode of pick up. Raaghu updated saying that Qualis would come to his house and then from there we shall proceed further. Raaghu, headed towards Yeshwanthpura around 3 left for Saturday in the Qualis. On the way Raaghu updated Me(Vinod) that get ready.

I(Vinod) started heading towards Yeshwanthpura so that Shetty can join me and avoid some 5KM J. One the way Sandhya (Half Naggan) called me said that Full Naggan are also game. That was like fully shocking news for me. Well its clearly resembles the name NAAVU SARIILLA J, and Sandhya said that decided on the fly as her presentation was cancelled. But there was a catch in the deal for the Trip. The deal is that Full Naggan would leave Coorg on Sat Night to Mysore to attended family function. We said DONE DEAL, HOP-IN.

One the Nagaland Circle Junction I got in the Qualis, Raaghu introduced to driver and I updated Raaghu that Full Naggan are also joining. He was also shocked with the expression “ENN BAALU IDDU..” I said “GOTHA ALLA NAAVU YAARU ANTHA”. Then we headed towards Shetty house and Shetty was ready. Picked up shetty and then headed towards Full Naggan’s house, waited near Full Naagans house as they were out for dinner.

We all started to Coorg around 1 to Saturday. Venketesh(Driver) drove towards Mysore but before some 5 KM from Mysore Qualis tyre got punctured and Venketesh took 15 mins to get back to normal shape and then starting our journey towards Mysore and dropped in Naggans cousine house to drop the Teddy Bear and then headed non-stop towards Madikeri. Morning around 4 past Saturday sleep was un-tolerable by Venketesh and said that we will have some 30 mins rest and then proceed further. Me(Vinod) and Raaghu saw out side it was terrific weather with the droplets of water vapor suspended in the air all over the road and could not stop ourselves for stepping out. Stepped out and went for a walk in the mist. In the foggy climate I was thinking that if we could get a cup of hot tea then nothing like that. As the mist was clearing we could see one tea shop with the light music. Me and Raaghu went to the shop and I had one cup of tea. Raaghu did not have as having fear of Nature call J. After that we started towards Madikeri.

Day 1 Nov 19, 2005 (Saturday) Madikeri
Reached Madikeri around 7 past Saturday. Daya Mama started called his friends (Boy / girl still no idea) mother who is big shot in Madikeri, in the mean time me(Vinod) and Raaghu enquired about the Hotel room. Then Daya updated that there is a 2 bedroom house and where we can cook also (whether we cook or not secondary) and we all said that go for it. The cost was nominal and much lesser then the hotel cost. Headed towards the house and the house was much more then expected. While roaming on the roads of Madikeri Vinod recalled one of his Digi Trip with Digimates. He started explaining where they stayed and what all the places they covered and so on. Good recall of memory man!!

Raaghu in the mean time started pestering to get ready fast as we are already 1 hours behind schedule. Due to the limitation on number of bathroom, the process got further delayed for an hour. In the mean time Ramu(Local House Boy) got us coffee. Once every one were ready we had one round of photo session with the NAAVU SARIILLA Swett shirts. This photo session was for the Kabira to identify the NAAVU SARIILLA members. The deal was that if not identified the members then he will be fined in pounds.

By the time we are were in Athithi(Hotel) it was 10 past Saturday.

In front of Athithi was had some photo sessions.

Headed Towards Tal kavari.
On the way towards we had a hot topic for discussion to change the name of our group NAAVU SARIILLA to some good and decent name. Lots of new names came out but non of them were really mind blowing as NAAVU SARIILLA. Couple of names were able to give some fight (Nenapu, Srigandha) but at the end we had dropped that idea. “Humping, Dumping, Jumping” road towards talakaravi took some more time than expected. This “Humping, Dumping, Jumping” road gave nature admire Raaghu to take some more snaps on the way. On the way we got down out of Qualis and started walking along with road. During the walk Daya Mama and Shetty had some “KASTA SUKHA MATHUGALU”. At one particular spot we had one more round of photo session for Kabira’s Quiz. After the photo session we got in to Qualis and headed towards Tal Kavari continuing our change of name topic. At around 13 Past Saturday we reached Tal Kavari and had darshan of Birth place of Kavari River.

In order to get a glimpse of Arabian Sea we climbed up to top of Brahmagiri. But as expected there was nothing visible. It seems that during the clear sky you can get a glimpse of Arabian Sea. Any way with out missing this opportunity Raaghu digitalized some of the best nature views. Got down and had some cold “MAJJIGE” and continuing my (Vinod) tradition I bought one devotional cassetteJ.

By the time we left Tal Kavari it was 14 Past Saturday.

Headed Towards Sangama.
While getting down in the ghat section had some live coverage from Raaghu. Before 2 KM from Sangama, we got down as Some other group people vehicle got punctured and they were unable to fix that. Our Venkatesh said that I will get the puncture done for our tyre also.

We said OK and started walking towards Sangama. While going there were lot of school children’s accompanied us and all of the kids read print on our t-shirts were shouting NAAVU SARIILLA, NAAVU SARIILLA. We stopped near by one shop and refueled our self and after refueling we continued our walk towards Sangama. Reached Sangama and Our Qualis also came by that time. There was nothing much to see in sangama so we skipped that headed towards Madikeri. Reached Madikeri and were searching for one Vegetarian hotel, after some struggle we found vegi hotel by name “guru prasad” and had our mid day meal.

Headed Towards Abbe falls
It was around 16 past Saturday when we started. We where thinking to go to Room and get refreshed and then go towards Abbe Falls. But, ongoing Half Naggan’s Family “KASTHA”, decided to go straight to Abbe Falls. Reached Abbe falls and relaxed for an hour and had some photo sessions. In Abbe falls, someone enquired about our NaavuSariilla t-shirt. After that, reading of Abbe falls history displayed on stone by Raghu. From there came back to House and then got refreshed with hot coffee and Full Naggan packed things to go back to Mysore. Came to Madikeri bus stand and Full Naggan boarded the bus to Mysore. I guess first time in Full Naggan’s History boarded NON-VOLVO busJ. But what to do has to adjust with things some time.

Me(Vinod), Raaghu, Daya Mama and Shetty came back to Room and relaxed for a while before India and Srilanka match was started. Had hot bajji and coffee prepared by Ramu(House Boy). Then arranged for Cards and played till 20 past Saturday. After that we realized that we are hungry and left the same and went in search of night meal. Luckily found one place to grab some thing at Hotel Woodlands. Finished night meal and back to Room and continued our play with and at around 23 past Saturday went to bed.

Day 1 Nov 20, 2005 (Sunday)
Before going to bed Raaghu said that get up as early as possible so that we can easily cover all the places with out hurry burry. Me(Vinod) and Raaghu got up at 5.15 – 5.30 and did some YOGA to refresh ourselves. We (me and raaghu) got ready by 6.45 and still Lazy fellows Daya Mama and Shetty were in deep sleep, it was tough job make Daya Mama and Shetty to get up from the bed. After great struggle got up. In the mean time these guys get ready, me(Vinod) and Raaghu went to RAJA SEAT in morning hours to get some real fresh air. Spend some time and Raaghu digitalized some of the best nature. Came back to Room and lazy fellows were ready and checked out the house. By the time we left it was 8 past Sunday.

Headed towards OMKARESHWARA Temple
Breakfast in the Madikeri was not that good, so decided that we can have break fast at Kushalnagar and Athithi hotel. Visited the OMKARESHWARA temple it was marvelous piece of art. Temple was too good. Had darashana and then continued journey towards Kushalnagar and ATHITHI hotel.

Headed towards Harangi Dam.
Once finished break fast at ATHITHI, we headed towards harangi dam. By the time we reached harangi dam it was around 11 past Sunday. This time camera and handy cam were banned so could not carry inside. Reached Dam and Releaxed for and hour there with remembering some old memories and discussing “KASTHA SUKHA” While walking back towards Qualis took a long walk and got in to the Qualis. I(Vinod) drove Qualis 5 KM till we reach main road. By the time we come back from Harangi dam it was 13 Past Sunday and and our Lunch at ATHITHI again. Finished lunch and headed towards Bagmandala.

Headed towards Bagmandala, its Nisargadhama

We were disappointed when we came to know that boating is not allowed in this season as the water flow is more. Instead we took tickets for Jambu savari (Elephant ride). Inside Nisargadhama, we spent some time taking snaps of nature. Enjoyed some time swinging on a uyyale tied to a tree. Later on spent some time near the river flowing. Vinod had a nostalgic feeling at this place. He was telling some of his heroics of his previous visit along with his digital group. When we were waiting for elephant ride, Vinod was approached by a group of girls (!!!!) to take their snaps on elephant. Then they thanked him and we went on elephant ride. During elephant ride, Vinod started to give gyan on evolution. Even Charles Darwin couldn’t have answered an ultimate question from Vinod. It is Question of Millennium – Evolution made man from monkey, But how come still there some monkeys left over? After lunch at Athithi, headed towards Golden temple

Headed towards Golden temple.
A whole village has been given to the Tibetans and inside the temple premises, all the Tibetan monks were seen. When we reached the temple, it seems that was lunch time for them. They were chanting some mantras with a band and huge plates banging in the background. It seems to us we were in completely different world. During the photo session, Daya and Shetts had absconded and went back to cab. Vinod and Raghu were loafing around and were trying to make out which monk is male, which one female as everyone looked similar!!!! Then we headed towards the parking lot, just in time to find that Kabira had called from UK. He was just checking whether we could execute the plan properly. During the call, Vinod had almost disclosed that Nagann was with us during the trip. Next we headed towards Mysore spending some time in cab playing cards.

Headed towards Mysore.
On the way to Mysore, halted for a tea break and vada. On the way we had nice sessions of cards in the Qualis. On the way got couple of calls from nagann that he is ready and waiting at house. Just before reaching Nagann’s house, we realized that we should have got some gift to Urmi on her birthday, but went in empty hands. Expecting for some birthday cake we entered his house but disappointed to hear that there was no cake. Nagann’s athige gave some sweets and we headed towards Tiski’s house. On the way to Tiski’s house we dropped in a hotel to have some snacks but ate like dinner – Mallige idli, spicy chutney, akki rotti, and some pani puri too. Tasty food it was. Again a halt at Tiski’s house and Vinod who was feeling uncomfortable, cleaned his stomach here. After that we headed towards Mandya, when Sandhya started pestering us to play some hindi songs but we all wanted to hear kannada songs. Finally, we decided to start the singing session and give rest to the player. Along with our regular list of songs – preetse, h20 and daraku, Vinod added his new favourite Nee bandu ninthaga and Aadisi nodu from Kasturi nivasa. After the singing session, we halted at Sandhya’s house to pick her mother and headed towards Bengaluru.

Headed towards Bengalooru
On the way towards bengalooru, surprisingly our driver Venkatesh who was mostly quite thorough out the trip started talking. May be because none of us thought of asking him for a dinner as no one was feeling hungry. He started talking about his old days when he was driving trucks. Only Nagann, Daya and Raghu was listening to him and rest were already asleep. Reached Bengalooru safely at midnight.

Mysore Pravasa (Jamboo Savari)

Starring - Daya, Raaghu, Shetty, Vinod, Full Naggan (Nagi & Sandhya) & Preveen (Pungi)

Thinking how to start off with writing something for Mysore trip (Part II), but not sure how to, cos we had the craziest start ever. The main reason for confusion was that we had Pungi alias bogus alias Tinku alias Praveen with us for this trip and for people who know Tinku this is very common.

10th of October – Trip on Bike
We had plans of going to Mysore on our bikes and Tinku came up with a thought that his Sumo was unused for sometime now and we could use it.

12th of October

Then there were confusions from his home-side and Tinku dropped out and we swapped back to the Plans of the bike. As one of the bikes was vacant for a pillion, Raaghu managed to arrange his friend to come with us. So on Tuesday our mode of transport swapped like this.

12:30 pm Sumo
02:30 pm Bike
05:00 pm Sumo
08:00 pm Bike
09:30 pm Sumo
10:00 pm Bike
10:45 pm Sumo
11:00 pm Sumo(????)
11:30 pm Bike

13th of October
On Wednesday morning (the day of the trip), Raaghu’s friend dropped out with sudden shots of cold & fever. The Guy we feel dropped out as it was drizzling that day and thoughts of traveling in the bike on a rain day must have brought jitters in his bones.

But we had the plans swapping between Bike & Sumo until Wednesday Morning 5:30 am and we got a call from Tinku at that time that the Sumo was available and we would also be coming. So we heartily thanked Raaghu’s friend for dropping out as we would not have managed to continue with the trip on our bikes due to heavy rains. “Aggodella Volledikke”. I and Vinod dropped our Bikes at Tinku’s place, picked up Tinku & his sumo and went to Raaghu’s place. Meanwhile Nagann was waiting for us with his cousin at Mysore road in the rain. The next problem we had was arranging a driver for the sumo. Tinku’s driver was in as much confusion as us due to change in plans. We had to wait for around two hours for the driver to get ready and we started of at 8:00 am (two hours after the actual plan). So we had Nagann, his cousin, Raaghu, Tinku, driver and a Train engine (let’s call it Vinod) with us for this trip.

We fuelled the vehicle and started with the journey. We reached Maddur at around 10:00 am and nothing much happened till then as all of us were sleepy. We had water & Tatte Idlis with Vadas as breakfast there and commenced the journey. After breakfast Nagann & Vinod were in full swing and we have rounds of Raktha Kanneru and many kannada songs.

Vinod seemed to be possessed with Rajkumar’s Spirit and sang with great Zeal. He was exceptional with one song of the movie “Bhagyavantaruu”, it must be “Ninna Nanna Manavu ….”. And Nagann as always was in full flow with Kanta dialogues of “Raktha Kaneeru” and Raghavendra Teertharuu was also good. With all this happening around we never realized we had reached Mysore by 11:00 am.

We dropped in Dayanand’s Place (For those who do not know Dayanand we also call him Tiski Daya) & Nagaraj continued homewards to collect tickets for the Jaambu Savari. We had a royal treat of Bisi bele baths, Jahangirs, Coffees etc. in Daya’s place. After Brunch we went to the place (Near the palace) where the Jumbu Savari had to start. We by luck or chance managed to get seats very close to the Road where the procession had to begin. And this time Nagann was also complete. So it was me, Nagann, Sandhya, Raaghu, Vinod, Tiski Daya & Tinku at the procession. The Procession began at 11:30 and was actually started by Dharam Singh. He was as graceful & slow as an Elephant. After the inauguration by Dharam Singh, the procession began and we had glimpse of different varieties of Doolu Kunita, Kollattas, Vintage Car rally, Vintage Bike rally, Different types of Folk Songs & arts, Karadi kunita and so on. We relished each and every part of the procession and our cameraman Mr. Raghavendra and shot superb shots of the Procession. The Highlight of the procession was a dog which had the privilege of going on the procession more than 5 times. The procession had attracted a huge crowd. (Probably 25 lakhs as the Newspaper say, but I am not sure as we did not have the time to count). The Procession continued for 2 hours until 2:00 pm and ended with Balarama carrying the Statue of Goddess Chamundeswari on the 1000 kg Gold Ambari accompanied with his darlings Rukmini & Mary. Nagann said that Balarama does not carry the ambari with them around. But with all this we also had shots fired from the old canons around a dozen times. These canons sound cool & wonderful when there are not pointed towards to you.

We wanted to head towards Bangalore after the procession, but Nagann had different plans. He somehow managed the tickets of the Panju kunita(Torch Procession or dance). As we had 3 hours time to go. We went to Daya’s place picked up his luggage and went to some old part of Mysore to have “Mylaari Dose”. We saw how the govt officals uses the govt resources for there personal use(it was extreme) and we had our stomach full with the dosas. The Dosas were so good that Tinku who normally has half an idlis for his breakfast had TWO dosas.

We whiled our time & at 6 pm headed towards the Banni Mantapa Ground where the Panju kunita was to be held. We met up with Nagann and his family (Sandhya, his brother & family) there and entered the ground around 6:15. The procession began at 6:45 with the Governor & the Chief Minister entering the Ground. After this there was a Flag salute by the Governor and then we went around the ground in a jeep accompanied with some men on horses doing something I am not sure off. Then the Bugle band(????) started playing the national anthem(in parts) and we had to stand up sit down a couple of time. But it was heart warming to see that a lot of people still respect the national anthem. After when acrobatics of Motorcycles had to begin, our friend the rain showed up. And the whole show went for a toss. People were trying some kind of circus holding plastic chairs over their head to avoid the rain. We some how managed to come out of the stadium but drenched and went towards our sumo. Nagann joined us with Sandhya near the cab. Then at 8:30 pm we started towards after trying to dry ourselves with what ever cloth we got.

On the way back we had jolly good with old entertainers in full swing joined in by Tiski Daya. We dropped in at Sandhya house at 9:00 pm, had Bisi Bele bath as dinner at their house with Shreekhand and proceeded towards Bangalore. Its true guys, we managed to hoax Sandhya for the dinner. We reached Bangalore at around 12:30 pm dropped Nagann, Sandhya & Daya home. After this we had a dilemma, whether Vijayanagar was closer from to Mysore to Bangalore or was it Vidyranyapura. The majority in the cab decided that Vidyranyapura was closer and we dropped Vinod home & then Raaghu heartily dropped me & Tinku home and went home at around 2:30 pm.

I hope the guys who were a part of this trip really enjoyed the whole trip even though rain played a spoil sport with the Torch procession. So please do not include him in the next trip.

Mysore Habba (Mysore Trip, October 7 - 9, 2005)

October 7, 2005.

Watching television could not make me happy on Friday evening. I was alone at home as my better half went to Mysore for Dusshera. I wanted to go out on the weekend. I started thinking about the places and could toss up couple of places but finally I decided to go Mysore with Naavu Sari illa Boyz

This particular week is special for Mysoreans as Dusshera festival. We got 10 days of Dasami in Mysore and all kinds of cultural activities will be underway in Mysore. I wanted to show our Navu sari illa boyz on our Mysore culture. One more reason I wanted to go Mysore by Car because of the waterfall made by my love needs to go Mysore before wednesday. So "Ondu kallu eradu Hakki"...

Called up Vinod/Raaghu and setup the plan for next two days. Daya mama was in Mysore and he would join us for the trip. We did not inform Daya mama about our plans. We wanted to give him a big big surprise :)

October 8, 2005.

So, all set to visit "Kalegala Thavaruru, Mysore ". Raaghu waited for Mandi and he could not turned up. Raaghu decided to pick me up in Jayanagar. Raaghu came to my house in TATA Indica and I got in. We went to Raaghu's house. Vinod suppose to Join us but he called us and said come over to Vijaynagar bus stand. We picked up Vinod @ Vijaynagar bus stand and we five are on the way to Mysore.

Guess how 5? Naanu, Vinod, Raaghu, Kumar (Driver) and TATA Indica :))

We really enjoyed the journey to Mysore. 4 Lanes new road :) There is a Vintage car ralley in Mysore for Dasara. All the vintage ralley participants are on the way to Mysore drowing their old cars. We are able to take couple of snaps of the same.

Man the old car runs solid on good road :) We did see some of the great brands...Jaguar, Ferrari, Chevey and so on...

I stared explaning about Mysore and Mysore culture. I did not forget to tell "Gandhadha Nadidhu Mysore, Chinnada Bedidhu Mysore" and I assured that you will enjoy most in Mysore.

In the mean time I checked out with my Mysore contacts for hotel accommadation but found out that all hotels are full due to Dasara. I thought two guys can stay in our house. My Bro told no problem.

We reached Mysore @ 1 PM. "Time for lunch guys" said Vinod. We stopped at Hotel Kamat, a decent place in Mysore. We finished the lunch and plan to visit Tiski mane on the fly. We called Tiski near to his house. We stopped in front of the house (Vinod was talking over the phone with Tiski). Tiski was near to door and saw us. He could not believe that scene. Enge Mama surprise :))

We decided about the next 2 days program in Mysore and we left to our house with Tiski.

In our house, we have the tradition of "Gombe Kursodhu" as part of Dasara. We went to our house by 4 PM and I showed and explanined the "Gombes" to Bangalore Boyz. They are happy to see this and vinod said "Maga sakkat" :))

We hand over the waterfall to Sandhu and she started working on that to fix the water motor.

Santro Time
Vinod wanted to drive our Santro. This desire have waited for more than 3 years. Finally time to break this. This time he got the opportunity. At 5 PM we went Mysore Ring Road and Vinod drowed our Santro very neatly. Lovely maga, keep up the sprit.

We decided to leave to palace at around 6 PM. We reached the palace at around 6:30PM.

The palace light glows at 7 PM. We just loafed around palace. When the clock strikes 7'o clock the light got illuminated. It was a just wonderful seen for any one. Vinod loved it very most. He started asking How many blubs? and so on. The next day he did some Googlism and came out with the number and rest story.

We enjoyed the beauty of the palace. We did catch best view in our photo. After we are done in palace its the time to see chamundi hills. Actaullay we wanted to see palace lights from chamundi hills. We headed towards Chamundi hills. We reached the view point and able to see the night of Mysore. We had a wonderful arial view of Mysore from the Chamundi hills. We have the "Chamundi" Dharshan and we spent 15 mins in front of "Mahishasura".

We came down at 9:30 PM to Mysore and had a nice food in Hotel Govardhan. We asked to Tiski to stay in my house. We logged of our day with nice chatting in our house.

October 9, 2005
The boyz got ready 9 AM. We had a home breakfast at my home. We headed towards Nanjangud. The plan is to cover Nanjangud, Gopala Swamy Beta and KRS and back to Bangy.

Chamundi bettada tappalinalli we had a pooja for our car. Kumar told that all public generally does pooja here. We did't knew that. Knowledge update for us. Then we headed towards Nanjangud and reached around 10:30 AM. Nanjangud is also known as "Dakshina Kashi". The temple has been pained in its natural way. The new paint gives more charming look to "GOPURA". We finished the dharshan with in 30 mins or less. We wanted to go around temple. I was eager to show/See all the KS styles around the temple. We had a couple of debatable session on some of the idols. Topic offline. We finished Nanjangud at around 12 Noon. We headed towards Gopala swamy betta.

Gopala swamy betta is also known as Himavadh Gopala swamy betta. Its 19 KMS from Gundlupete. On the way to Gopalaswamy betta we had a flat type and Kumar changed the type with in 10 mins. We stopped our car two times to have scenic butyl on the way to BG. Full of tiski jokes made us to reach BG in no time. The temple was closed as the pujari had gone to lunch. We just loafed around the temple for 30 minutes and we are back, temple was opened. We had a good darshana of "Gopala Swamy". The priest updated us with the "sthala purana". It was around 2:30 and we thought time to have lunch and we headed towards Gundlupete.

In Gundlupete we went to Nagi's bro in-laws house. Food was waiting for us. Thanks to Nagi & Nagi's bro Prasad for all the arrangements in advance. So full scope to Naganna there. Food was fantastic.oota in "baale ele " (Plantain leaf). All the guys batted very well. Once we finished late lunch we started towards Mysore and couple of the us went for a short nap.

On the way to Mysore a Tree fall down... JUST MISS (Reason for just miss: we took time in full batting..having lunch). There is a saying..what ever happens happens for (good aagodhalla valedhake). Then we reached Mysore. Driver took us through Ring Road. While entering the ring road it looks like there is a big road ahead but after 50 to 100 Meters the road is small i.e..2way .A big gooly ringing road.

Then we reached KRS around 6:15PM. Full of people...because of dasara. We parked our car on the other side of KRS. New place for parking. While entering KRS we saw a Indian guy his approximate height is 7+ feet. He works for KRS Dam as a Security Guard. Most of the Childrens were so happy to see that guy. Raaghu took few snaps of Brundavan garden. Fountain. Then we went towards Musical Fountain. It was really nice. We were there for 15 min... for 3 songs One Kannada Song(Doctor's song Hutidhare Kannada nadali hootabeke) English and an Hindi song(Gupt song). Then we are back to our car.

We all headed towards Bangalore. From KRS car went towards Srirangapattana, where we dropped daya. then directly to Bangalore.

It turned out to be a memorable trip with lots of fun and cherishing moments.

FYI: Nagann encorparate(Night alli Nagann maneli halt, at that time full chatting at the same time CALL FROM KABIRA UK. Full Surprise to him.)

Finally after the trip, we remembered Anna's words from Gandhadha Gudi...

Malenadu Pravasa - July 29 - July 31, 2006

Starring - Shankar, Daya, Raaghu & Santhosh and Mr. Mahanthesh(Our Cab criver)

Trip to temples around Malnad

Day 1 - 29 th july friday Night

Friday was a bad & tiresome day at Office and I was not sure whether we were going any place... There was no communication between me & Shanks ( The Co-ordinator of the trip) that day about the time of journey and the people coming for the trip...
He had just told me that "Come to my place at 10".

When I turned up at his place at 10 after a call, Shanks was waiting outside his house for US with a red Qualis. Raghu & Daya turned up at around the same time. Shanks told us that we were waiting for Kiran (a Friend of ours).. So we sat down at Shankar's Place waiting. We saw a DVD of chandramukhi lying and Asked him to Place it. We Really enjoyed Rajini's Flying in the Air and his "Laka Lakassss"
and also Jyothika hideous "Hummaa". When there was was no signs of Kiran turning up, we decided that we would SMS him and Kick-off the Journey.

We started off at around 10:45 PM from Shankar's place at yeswanthpur towards NH4 (Tumkur road). The Night that day was real Chill, it must have been around 14 Deg C. In the Cab, Shanks Settled down as the Navigator(he Really proved to be Good with that and we can use him as so in the Trips to come), Daya & Raaghu in the Center seats and Myself in the last seat. Shanks & Me played the major part that Night. Shanks had to talk to the Driver to keep him awake and I had to sleep for the entire team, while Raaghu & Daya were just whiling away their time chatting to each other(what a serious waste of time). Mean while we also tried talking some songs and also to listen to the Deck we had in the Cab which worked on its own terms.

Between the journey to Hornadu we did stop at a couple of places for Tea and etcs... and followed continously by Rain...

Day 2 - 30th July Saturday Morning

At Hornad:

We reached Hornadu at around 6.30 in the Morning. I was totally drained out with the sleeping I had to do alone in the night and Shanks also looked at little tried. Then Shanks & Raaghu went around searching for a place to refreshen up, while I & Daya were guarding the cab from inside. They managed a room at Durgamba lodge close to the temple for 2 hours to freshen up. (We were not given rooms at the temple as we were Bachelors. So we have decided that we will fight this injustice effectively by Getting married sooner). I allowed the Guys to bathe in the HOt water
and freshen up while I bathed in the ICE cold water. So the GUYS were up & kicking at 8. We vacated the room and ventured out of the Lodge. We till then never realized that we were standing in front of a breathtaking view of the temple surrounded with mountains around it. For Guys who missed it , there is no reason to worry as we did have a photo session(both audio & video) around these places
for you people specially. We went in to the temple at around 8:15 and the Arathi was at 9 Am. So we had a quick darashan, decided to finish our "hootte pooje" and then come back for the arathi. We performed "hotte pooje" twice in the morning once in the temple and once outside the temple.
We returned back at around 9 and had a splendid darshan of the Goddess Annapurna. The Temple was( for some reason i am not sure of ) was decorated beautifully decorated with a lot of flowers and looked splendid. After some clicks and Pan , we decided to move ahead in the journey towards Kalasa which was just a
few kilometres away from Hornad. And not to forget we had rain , rain , rain & rain everywhere.

At Kalasa:

kalasa was a special surprise package. We hadn't really planned for this place. But the temple was beautiful,Quiet & Calm. This temple has history of 3500 years and is dedicated to Agasthya Muni(hope people know him). The temple has been renovated several times during that period and the current structure must have been built around 1000 years(???). For some reason there were literally no devotees at this temple, hence we had a good darshan of the main diety(???,sorry
guys excuse my memory) there. Note: This place is real calm and for married people who want to take up sanyasatva(celibacy),
this place is real idle.

Towards Kudremukh:

After kalasa, as we had a lot of time in hand due to our excellent planning, we did some panning & clicking and decided to move towards Shringeri passing over Kudremukh. we wanted to trek around Kudremukh and while some time of ours their. But as the rains were not receding & the slopes were slippery we did not venture out for the trek. So whenever the rain slowed down a little we would stop the cab, venture out for a walk for a couple of KMS with the cab following us. We were finding the walks real dangerous and hazardous, due to a the pure oxyzen
around us(I think you guys will agree that we would suffocate to death without the dose of oxygen we get at bangalore gelled with different exotic monoxides). But we guys with determined resolve ignored the rain and the oxygen and walked these distances with ease. We were eventually on our way to Lakya dam and in between these we stopped at kadambi falls and a river side of tunga (Place was scenic but we do not have a name for this.not to worry guys we did pan, zoom & click at these places for you). Do not miss Kadambi falls if you are going this way. The Waterfall was full and looked exotic. We went down to the base of the fall but sadly
we could not use the cameras.

We reached Lakya Dam in the noon and ventured out for a walk on the dam.
For some reason there was no water in the dam. But Kudremukh with all the iron rich mountains looked outrageosuly beautiful from the Dam's view. We were not supposed to use the camera at the dam. So sorry guys no photos of this place. We spent some time at the dam and move towards Shringeri at 2 Pm. Between distances we would venture out for short walks and we did see a lot of small beautiful streams. We also donated some blood to few poor blood thirtsy leeches.

At Shringeri:

We reached shringeri at around 4 pm and searched for a lodge with a TV so that we could watch india's cricket match against SL. We found a room but there was no electricity in the whole of Shringeri. Might be due to the fallen electric poles we saw on the way. Electricity did come but unluckily we could not watch the match as the whole of shringeri did not have ten sports.(We do not know the reason which shringeri has banned this particular channel). We had lunch(meals) at a hotel nearby and took a quick nap for 3 hours and freshened up for the Evening visit to the temple at 7. We had a decent darshanam of the Goddess Shradamba and
spent some time in the temple. This temple has a history of hundreds of years(around 1500) and lates back to the time of adi shankara.

The Shiva temple here looks old & fabulous. We did some pan, zooms & clicks outside the temple and also visited the meditation place of the Mutt. It was really calm & Peaceful with the OMs echoing around the hall. We sat there for some time and moved back to the room for the Night's nap. Sorry guy, forgot the dinner we had at the temple premises. The food was good and as Shankar Says
"it's only in south Indian temples Devotees get Food for free to the devotees."So guys " This happens only in South India".

We chatted for a while and slowly our wickets started falling down one by one.
We had a peacefully night in the room enough though it was raining heavily outside.

Day 3 - 31st July Sunday Morning.

At Shringeri

We woke up EARLY in the morning and very ready for our advanture at 7:30. We went to the temple and clicked some snaps and we also had pan, zoom & clicks of us around the temple. We had a darshan of the Goddess and then strolled around the temple for sometime. We then went for breakfast at a hotel nearby suggested by Shankar and the food was real GOOD. We had a good breakfast and moved ahead towards Dharamasthala.

At Kigga

On our way to Dharamasthala, we went to temple called Kigga. This temple too lates back to the days even before the Ramayan and the place where the sage "Rushya Shrunga" was born. Thats the reason the place around is called Shrengeri. This temple like Kalsa looks Old & divine . The Priests there gave us a detailed Stala purana of this temple. We then had a darshana & archane of the dieties and left the temple in about 20 minutes. Guys, do visit this temple if you have time and are around Shringeri.

At Dharamastal

We then Travelled towards Dharamstala and reached there by 1:00 pm in the noon.
We had a decent Darshan of the lord Chandramouli(manjunatheswara) after standing in the line for around an hour. The day being a sunday, we could see veerendra Heggade performing tula-baraof some devotees with one of his younger brothers around him. We went for lunch at a mutt nearby with no hassles of standing in a line. After lunch we went to the bankside of river Nethravati and whiled away a little time of our watching the river flow at its fullest. We took some Photos around this place and then started towards Kukke Subrahmanya at 2:30 pm.

At kukke Subramanya:

We took to the road and moved towards kukke subramanya at the leisure speed we were maintaining through out the journey. We also had a couple of our mandatory stroll on the jungle roads and saw a lot of wild animals like buffaloes, cows, monkeys etc... As both the days were a weekend we could not see the other animals. on our way to kukke we did see a lot of streams flooding up to the brim of the bridges over them and it was lovely sight to watch the rivers flowing at tremendous speed under these rivers. When we reached kukke it was around 4 pm and with the rain accompanying us we visited the temple and had a darshan of the lord subrahmanyeswara. We also saw the river(stream) dakshina theerta and clicked some photos there. We visited the adi subrahmanyeswara temple also. We did not have much info of this temples. At 5 pm , we decided to move towards bangalore.

Towards Bangalore:

The road towards bangalore was blocked as one of the river was overflowing with water at 3 feet. So after much thought we decided to take a different route and go to bangalore. We went about asking & enquiring people on the road for the road which would lead us to Bangalore. We travelled for an extra 40 Kms(???) to reach our intended and we were back on track after minor setback. But we did enjoy the 40 odd extra kms we put due to scenic views we had in & around Panja. After this we had Tea & Snacks at a roadside hotel and were back on our journey. Tired we all Dozed off in the cab and when we were 45 kms away from bangalore suddenly we felt like the cab went over a rock. And the Vehichle started to shake, we stopped
the vehicle and got down to find a flat tyre.it seemed like the vehichle did not want
the journey to end.The driver and us tried to remove the tyre with the jack or other equipments but the tyre did not budge and we were stranded at this place over 2 hours until the owner of the cab turned up with somebody to help us change the tyre and put us back on track. We reached Shanks place at around 3 am and parted ways.

Guys, we had an excellent trip even with the rain pouring down during the entire journey. Hope you guys enjoy reading this log as we enjoyed the trip. Also hoping that we will be going on more trips like this and more people would join in.
